MUSLIM actor warns the British Parliament: “Start hiring more Muslims for TV and film roles…or else!”
Riz Ahmed, a Pakistani Muslim who has starred in Rogue One and an HBOmini series, spoke to Parliament in Britain and explained that if television and films didn’t start putting more Muslims in prominent parts (NOT just as terrorists), more young Muslim men will keep joining the Islamic State (ISIS).
Free Beacon This is the kind of patronizing nonsense in which the left routinely engages regarding Muslims and other supposed “victim groups” – that if they don’t see enough people “like them” in positions of power, they’ll go bad.
During a Thursday speech to Channel 4’s annual diversity lecture in Parliament, Ahmed urged television producers to embrace more Muslim representation, or young Muslims will feel alienated and will be more vulnerable to joining Islamic terrorist groups.
In the HBO politically correct series,The Night Of followed Nasir Khan, who after stealing his father’s taxicab for a night in Manhattan picks up a girl named Andrea and ends up drugged up and having sex with her. A few hours later, he wakes up with no recollection of what happened in the previous few hours, but finds the girl stabbed to death on her bed.
Charged with the murder, Naz gets sent to Rikers Island, where he is forced to leave his old self behind and adapt to his new surroundings to survive. When the jury became deadlocked during its deliberations and was unable to make a decision, prosecutor Helen Weiss declared that the state would not continue to prosecute Naz.
He explained: ” In the mind of the ISIS recruit, he’s the next James Bond, right? Have you seen some of those ISIS propaganda videos, they are cut like action movies? Where is the counter narrative? Muslims are looking for the message that they belong (despite doing everything they can to prove they DON’T want to belong in Western society), and they are valued. If we don’t, they will turn to ISIS.
Ahmed recently starred in Rouge One: A Star Wars Story as the defected imperial pilot Bodhi Rook. He has appeared on HBO’s “The Night Of” and “Girls.”
Ahmed suggested that the government should take action to help solve the problem of diversity in British television. He suggest that the government withhold funds until there is more Muslim representation. (Is that a threat?)
